KPKP Agency Destroys 1.3 Tons of Illegal Pork

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency has destroyed 1.3 tons of illegal pork at PD Dharma Jaya Pork Slaughterhouse (RPH), Kapuk, West Jakarta, Tuesday (12/29).

This is done to maintain the health of residents

Jakarta KPKP Agency Acting Head Suharini Ellywati said, it was the result of the control carried out by his party with the Ditkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya's civil investigators (PPNS) Korwas on December 11 at PIK and December 23 at Teluk Gong Market, West Jakarta.

"This is illegal pork that we seized from two locations," she expressed.

She explained, the pork itself was detected from illegal animal slaughterhouse in Tangerang area. According to the food law, the pork distribution in Jakarta and its surrounding areas should pass through the RPH and the PD Pasar Jaya.

"This is done to maintain the health of residents. By so, we hope similar case can be prevented in the future," she asserted.

As for the information, the destroying process was attended by Veterinary Public Health, Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Directorate General, Agriculture Minister Syamsul Ma'arif, West Jakarta Corruption Eradication Commission Chairman Iwan Indriyanto, PD Dharma Jaya Manager Senior Junet and Ditkrimsus Polda Metro Jaya's PPNS Korwas Ipda Syahlan.
